Journey On Relaxation Reflection

Hmm . . . I enjoyed the relaxation exercise quite nicely. Yes, my arms and hands felt heavy and I was not able to move them as the exercise progressed. However, once the thought of returning the blood back to my midsection occurred, my fingers were able to move quite freely. Nevertheless, my hands were still a bit heavy because I noticed I could not rotate my palms as easily when suggested as I was able with just the fingertips.

Overall, I enjoyed the exercise and look forward to practicing this relaxation method on others in the near future. One final thought, the male voice was quite soothing. I am sure this played a major role in that, for one, it was audible and additionally, he sounded relaxed himself. :)

  1. I also enjoyed this exercise. I thought his voice was soothing, but there were a few times where he seemed to almost change what he was going to say. Maybe he was reading a script, but it did throw me off a bit. I look forward to more of these also. As soon as a turned it on I did decide that sitting at my desk wasn't going to work, so I took my laptop and laid down. I don't think it would have worked as well otherwise.

  2. You bring up a great point Traci. There is an art to helping people walk through a guided meditation and a big part of it is the ability to be centered while delivering the message or instructions. I conducted group meditations as part of my certification to become a Reiki Master and becoming centered while allowing myself to receive the message from the Universe was how I conducted those sessions. The feedback was positive. Like flourishing, we have to experience or be it before we can teach others how to achieve it.

  3. Hello Traci,

I also thought the speaker had a relaxing voice which helped progress my process of relaxation. I was very impressed with how I could actually make my blood "saturate" my arm muscles and create such a heaviness flowing down to my hands. I thought I was going to fall asleep near the end of the exercise until the speaker suggested waking up with a new energized state. And I did. I was so energized mentally that afterwards I accomplished a lot of class work that night.
